Cayman Cardiff Series Episodes Guide 2026 Ratings and Review

Beyond the Brands Everybody Recognizes

Five apps absorb almost all the coverage in this niche: ReelShort, DramaBox, ShortMax, My Drama and DramaWave. They are the fixed point here, and they are not being reviewed again. Most people misjudge the layer beneath them, which is deeper than it looks. At least one short drama app in that layer beats all five on downloads. I read the App Store and Google Play store listings for every name below on September 23, 2026. Dull as they are, publisher names, launch dates and download tallies are the columns a marketing team cannot puff up. When the two stores disagree, both numbers appear. Where a line gets repeated without a Cayman Cardiff series primary source, it is marked unconfirmed.

Seeing the Second Tier on One Screen

Two notes on the columns first. 10M+ and 100M+ are bands rather than tallies, since Google Play publishes installs in buckets, and an app at the bottom of a band can be far smaller than one at the top. Launch dates here are lifted from the store pages, which routinely log the iOS and Android releases weeks apart. A cell that says not reported means the number was not in the store pages or the put out data I checked. An iOS-only app has no Google Play number to give, which means that hole is real rather than sloppy. The table logs the documentation and skips the shows, because all seven sell short dramas in the same vertical format.

App Publisher in the store listing Launch date Google Play installs What is notable
NetShort NETSTORY PTE. LTD. July 22, 2024 100M+ Number three globally on downloads in Q1 2026, per Sensor Tower data
FlexTV YUDER PTE. LTD. October 2022 10M+ Longest-running of the apps in this group
MoboReels CHANGDU (HK) TECHNOLOGY LIMITED on iOS; MOBOREADER TECHNOLOGY USA on Google Play June or July 2023, by store 10M+ Two corporate names on one app
Kalos TV Storyverse Co., Limited September 2023 5M+ Smallest here; the Kuaishou link that keeps circulating is unverified
TopShort Han Book Pte. Ltd., developer name JoyHunter June 2023 Not reported; iOS confirmed only A single app holding novels and drama
FreeReels Kunlun Tech Not reported Not reported Number one globally by downloads in Q1 2026, per Sensor Tower
GreatShort Intelligent Journey Inc Not reported 10M+ Advertises itself as free of subscriptions

NetShort

A second rung probably does not characterize NetShort at all. Its Google Play developer is NETSTORY PTE. LTD., and the store listing shows a release date of July 22, 2024. That makes it younger than DramaBox, ShortMax and My Drama. It has still reached the 100M+ install band, the same band as ReelShort and DramaBox. Ranked third worldwide by downloads in Q1 2026 by Sensor Tower, it carries the strongest third-party data point on this page. What it lacks is a matching place in the revenue tables, in which DramaBox and ReelShort sat level at about $140M each that quarter. Since downloads and money are separate races, NetShort is currently winning only one of them.

FlexTV

FlexTV is the long-timer of this group and gets less notice than its age warrants. The publisher on both store pages is YUDER PTE. LTD., and both point to an October 2022 debut. About two months after ReelShort and half a year before DramaBox, in other words. It sits in the 10M+ download band, which is a full band below NetShort. A head start in this market has evidently not been worth much on its own. FlexTV reads as a mature drama app rather than a growing one, which makes four years of accumulated episodes are its real selling point.

MoboReels

MoboReels takes the longest to pin down. CHANGDU (HK) TECHNOLOGY LIMITED is the App Store vendor of record, while MOBOREADER TECHNOLOGY USA is the name on Google Play. So a single app carries two corporate names across two legal territories. Split naming is not a warning sign by itself, since it is widespread in this category, but it does rule out the publisher entry as a fast identity check. The launch is another disagreement between the stores, landing in June or July 2023. Its install bucket is 10M+, the band it shares with FlexTV and GreatShort. Record which store took your money if you install it, because refund requests go to Apple or Google rather than to one outfit.

Kalos TV

Kalos TV sits in the 5M+ band, making it the smallest app here. Its developer is Storyverse Co., Limited, and both stores date the debut to September 2023, the month ShortMax arrived. What the listings leave out is the interesting part. Online it is often characterized as a Kuaishou project, and its Android package name carries a kw prefix that people treat as evidence. No link to Kuaishou is confirmed in either store page, and I could not verify one from a primary source. Treat any article that states it flatly with suspicion, because a fragment of a package name is a hint and not a chain of ownership.

TopShort

TopShort is the odd one out, because iOS is the only place I could confirm it exists. Han Book Pte. Ltd. is the App Store vendor of record, JoyHunter is the developer name and the debut is given as June 2023. It is presented as an app for novels and drama, placing it in the same tradition as GoodShort. That combination is the reason to try it. Anyone already following serialized web fiction will spot the catalog logic and the source material behind the adaptations. I have no Google Play bucket for it, so I am not going to guess at its size from a single store.

FreeReels

FreeReels pairs the best headline number on this page with the flimsiest filings behind it. Ranked first globally by downloads in Q1 2026 by Sensor Tower, it sits ahead of everything else here and ahead of the five famous apps. The owner is Kunlun Tech, the group behind DramaWave, which Media Partners Asia credits with about 13% of the microdrama market outside China. So a single company owns the download leader and a top-five revenue app at once. Remember that any time this industry gets described as a two-horse race. No launch date or download band went into my points for it, so open the store page and read the purchase list yourself.

GreatShort

A real Android app from Intelligent Journey Inc, GreatShort sits in the 10M+ band on Google Play. What makes the pitch atypical is the store description, which says the app is free, with “no subscription and no hidden fees”. That assertion is the publisher’s own, made in its own store listing, and not a finding I confirmed by taking an account through a full series. Start testing it in the in-app purchase panel of the store page. A blurb written in September 2026 is a point-in-time record rather than a promise, since monetization changes here without announcements. If the claim holds up, GreatShort is the obvious first stop for anybody who declines to leave a weekly pass running.

Which Ones Are Worth a Look

On what the listings support, NetShort is the first download, and it has the reach and the published ranking to back up it. FreeReels is second on the same logic, plus a parent company with a real record in the category. FlexTV lands third, and I would open it to graze rather than to follow a new release. For iOS users who read web novels, and only for them, TopShort merits a place, because the combined catalog is a real difference. Nothing in their own store listings gives a reason to pick Kalos TV or MoboReels over the larger ones, since both are ordinary apps. Ten minutes with GreatShort will show whether its no-subscription statement holds up to contact with a paywall. If you simply want to watch dramas online without a new download, the five major apps and their official channels still serve you better.

When Only the Name Is Real

What is left to go wrong in this tier is search, not software. Many phrases that look like brands are only misspellings, and real short, reel shorts and realshort all resolve to ReelShort, printed by New Leaf Publishing. Two others now land somewhere real, since great short as two words reaches GreatShort and free reel reaches FreeReels. As new apps debut, a dead-end search can turn into a live result, and that is how the wrong download happens. The short tv style of title is not protected in store search either, and a number of separate developers publish near-identical names. MoboReels runs the other way, one genuine app under two publisher names, and TopShort is a third case, an iOS-only app leaving an Android blank other titles fill. Fixing it takes five seconds: ignore the icon, read the developer field, check the download bucket, and open the in-app purchase list before deciding that a shorts app is the one you wanted.
